The application of vacuum interrupter in China's power supply system began in 1978. Because of its light weight, simple structure and long service life, vacuum interrupter has been applied to the operation and maintenance of current departments. Has been recognized by the majority of technical personnel. The quality of vacuum interrupters produced in China in the early stage was not stable enough, the current carrying voltage was too high during operation, and some vacuum interrupters still had air leakage. The early manufacturing technology of vacuum interrupter is not mature, so it has some dangerous properties, especially the quality problems of vacuum interrupter.

After 1980s, we began to solve the problem of vacuum interrupter slowly, improved its material selection, and realized the advantages of no maintenance of the interrupter. Through the renewal of technology every year, the quality of vacuum interrupter can reach the international standard only by learning new technology from abroad. During this period of exploration, many relevant provisions on high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker have been issued and a series of domestic standards have been formulated.

By the time of Tianjin vacuum switch application promotion conference in 1992, the manufacturing technology of vacuum interrupter in China had entered the forefront of the same type of products in the same industry in the world, becoming a new historical turning point of the application and manufacturing technology of vacuum interrupter in China.
